A mistake does not equal failure

One thing I love most about shooting film are the 'mistakes', or wonderful surprises as I like to call them. These unforeseen outcomes are usually the result of leaking light, but the way it happens is usually so stray that its magical. Out of a whole film of well-exposed photos, there may be just one that resembles some other-worldly pattern. To get all spiritual and stuff, I think this idea definitely applies to existence as well. A mistake =/= failure.
Here are a few wonderful surprises.

  2. These are such perfect light leaks! That's my favorite thing about my old vintage cameras. They're sturdy yet full of these wonderful imperfections.

  3. Loving the colours in these pics! I'm always disappointed when I get my film back and its perfect - light leaks make for much more original and special photos.
