Summer List

So I'm back in little sunny Byron Bay for my mid-semester uni break, but it's not so sunny... More like windy and overcast with sporadic rainfall. Boo. I'm spending the bad weather inside watching movies, finishing off a book, and checking blogs. When I get back to Brisbane I will do an outfit post on the ASOS pieces and the new booties I got in the mail last week. But in the meantime, here are some of things on my summer wish list.
(Sleeveless) Collared shirts
Plain black satchel bag
Pretty sandal heels
Faux leather shorts
Linda Farrow shades
Denim shirt
Hope you all had a great weekend! x

Aquascutum Spring 2012

Such a strong and elegant collection. I'm blown away. It has just the right amount of power and femininity.

Collars

I'm a big fan of collars and button-up shirts. My collection of collared-anythings are rapidly growing and I can feel an obsession coming on. I just love the crispness it gives to an outfit and how you can layer this staple so easily and in such various ways. It can be the main element in a simple outfit, or a minute element in a complex, layered outfit that stands out in its own elegant way. Reading too much into collars? Probably.

Sunny Weekend

So the boyf and I spent the weekend in Byron Bay, a small coastal town about two hours south of Brisbane. It was perfect sunny weather, so we excitedly took the tinny to Brunswick Heads and had a lovely outing on the River. As we passed the river's bends we ate candy and enjoyed the sun, stopping to jump in the water and have a little snorkel with the fishies when our skin started to get too hot. Although I didn't take any photos of this trip, I have a large collection of photos of the beaches in Byron from growing up there, so I thought you might like to see them. They're all taken with film cameras, which I could begin talking about but you don't want to be sitting here all day. Hope you had a beautiful weekend.

Street Lovin'

Looking at these outfits makes me want autumn and winter again!

Little Byron Trip

I'm just packing a light bag for a little trip to Byron Bay with my boyfriend. We both grew up in that beautiful place, and it's always nice to get out of the city and drive back home. The weather today is really warm and absolutely beautiful, so I'm bringing my swimmers!
Here are a couple of things I'm packing. It's such a nice feeling to get all those spring and summer clothes from the bottom of my drawers and be able to wear them again. I know in a month or so I will be pining for autumn/winter again though, especially because it gets so hot here. But for the meantime, time to enjoy it.

Thrifted white linen top & shorts, red sweater from BigW, Sportsgirl wedges, Levi's bag, hand-made headband, Miss Shop sunglasses, Seafolly swimmer top & 2 Chillies bottoms, and thrifted beach shirt

ASOS Purchases

Purchased a lovely orange blazer and collar tips from ASOS on Saturday night. Honestly, I could go crazy on that thing, but I am a self-controlled girl who knows when to stop (most times). From now on, no more shopping for me. Maybe I should get my boyfriend to hide my debit card from me...

Prabal Gurung SS 12

I've just been flicking through style.com's coverage of the spring 2012 collections just presented at New York Fashion Week and I came across a designer I haven't heard of before: Prabal Gurung. I'm absolutely stunned with all of his designs! I don't want to write and write about how much I love his pieces when you can all just experience it yourselves, so I selected my favourites and here they are. You can view the full collection here.
I hope you enjoy Prabal Gurung just as much as I do.

Interior Design Inspiration

I'm in love with Scandinavian and minimalistic design. I think it's so simple, yet so effective and beautiful. I love how it focuses on one strong element and surrounds this by white. I know people think this kind of design is sterile, but I really disagree. The use of old, rustic wooden pieces, the organised clutter, and splashes of colour bring the whole space to life and give the space such an artistic and stunning feel.
All this, plus that amazing loft, just makes me die. Figuratively of course.

What do you think? Sterile or stunning?
